Default Leupold Rifleman Scope

I just picked up a Leupold Rifleman 3x9x40 riflescope for my 7mm mag. Has anyone used this line fo Leupold? If so, how do they compare to the more pricey Leupolds?

Thanks for your input.

Hey Western. I don't have one but was thinking about getting one for a muzzleloader. What is the price range on the rifleman's anyway?

I have a 2x7 on my 35 Whelen, I'd rate it along side the vx-1

I got mine from Cabela's. The 3-9-40 was 199.99 w/ free shipping.

Ya i've got a 3-9x50 on my rifle. Only problem is the power dial is very very stiff [:@].

Is this just my scope or are they all like this ?

The magnification setting ring on all Leupold's are stiff, designed that way.

what scope mounts would you recommend for this? I am putting it on an older Savage Model 110 bolt.

They are way overpriced IMO. They arent 1 piece and dont have full mulitcoated lenses(unless they recently changed). Those scopes should be in the 100$ range no more. For 200$ you can get a Bushnell 3200 or a Burris or Sightron along with others which have better glass and better features.

Yeah, hold up rifleman scope to the vx-11 and see the differance. I think the riflemans are way overpriced. They are just crappy optics compared to the spendier models.
