I bet there's a lot of chuckles about that title. As many opinions as hunters? Probably so but here goes anyway. What are your feelings on the slim carbons with heavy inserts for impact and penetration? Worth the extra money over the aluminums? Concerning draw weight on the up to 500 pound hogs and maybe over, how heavy do you want to go? 2 of my bows top out at 70 pounds. Is this enough? Any other opinions and information appreciated. Thanks everyone and Happy New Year

I shoot a Mathews Q2 at 63 pounds, 29" draw, and shoot a Black Hawk Vapor 4000 with a 100grn Grim Reaper RazorCut, Luma-Nock and 2-1/2" Sharks Tooth Bi-Delta vanes. My arrows weigh 428 grn. I, more times than not, blow through them providing I miss the far shoulder or plate. You don't need 80+ pounds and 1000grn arrows to take hogs. Just solid equipment and you are fine.
Any bow over 50 pounds with a solid broadhead on either a properly spined aluminum or carbon arrow and you are in for fresh chops on the barby that night!!!!!!!!

If you are shooting a compound, its is of no real concern. If you are shooting trad, you want a lot of foc, over 11% and heavy arrow, 600+ grain arrows, respective to draw weight. I hunt with nothing but my homemade long bows. I shot at least 60+ lbs @ 28" with alluminum arrows with weight string and weighted inserts. I have even taken 300+lb hogs with 45lb recurves with no problem (550 grain arrows). Sometimes when I build a bow for someone, I will test it out on hogs (ive got lots of hogs on my land). The bow buyer like to know that what they are buying is able to kill something like a hog.
