So I'm 13 and my family doesnt really like hunting and my friend who is a hunter has taken me hunting for: Squirrel, Prairie dog, and dove. So all small game. My friend and I plan on getting our hunters liscense very soon and the first thing we're going to hunt is javelina in february.....
It would be nice to hear some stories about your javelina hunts so I know what to "prepare for"
Thanks

Being from the midwest I have only gotten to Bowhunt Javies one time & hoping again this March. I have been Bowhunting for 53 years though & taken many a Biggame animal.
I do know they have poor eye sight & can be stalked & come into feeders IF that is allowed in your state. They also respond to a predetor call but be ready for them to come running in & mad (could be scary for you). They have excellent NOSe so always pay attention to wind direction & there is nothing wrong with their hearing.
My shots were like 20 yds or less & I was hunting a feeder (Texas). Everything I encountered was small groups of 5 to 10.
Good Luck & enjoy.
