That type circuit has dip switches that adjust seconds the feeder spins, so the light would only come on for a few seconds and then go out. thought about that already.

this is a different route but how about a motion sensor light plugged into an inverter and then the inverter hooked to a battery ....i have an inverter and thought about trying it

Ok a bit of asking around and I am back on track.
I will have to build a small circuit but it will only cost a couple of bucks.
Whats cool is the solar panel itself will be the trigger, when its voltage drops,(night time) the lights will come on. consists of a couple of diodes and transistor.

If you want to construct something, there are some good tips regarding photo switches at http://home.cogeco.ca/~rpaisley4/PhotoDetectors.html

Just finished it, I built a small circuit, the solar panel is what turns it off and on, way to cool only a couple of bucks in parts.

whats cool about this is if you have a 12 volt feeder and timer with sloar panel you could mount some light on the feeder and use the 12 volt battery for power and the solar panel will turn on the lights at dark.

i don't have a place that I can do what I want to do. If I did I think I would place some solar lights at a feeder, this way they could get used to feeding with the light on. What would be wrong with that?

I have been to places for the first time and placed my lights up at a feeder, it didnt bother them at all, they came in and fed.
LED,s arent the brightest. But give just enough light.
