Good idea.

well the photcell I took out of a solar light will not work. 12 volts is too much for that little circuit that takes a single aa battery. It smokes it as soon as I hook it up.
I cant seem to find a photo cell I need. Any ideas.

what about a light that already has a sensor on it... like a motion dector light or security light ....like the ones for your house...will they run on 12 volts?????? just an idea

That's a great idea.

ya I didnt want to go with a motion sensor I wanted a dusk dawn sensor. I am realy having trouble finding a 12 volt one. I tried a 120 volt from lowes but it doesnt work. This is becoming a night mare. All I need is a 12 volt photocell to finish this.

how about a photocell out of a deer feeder it runs on 12 volts...maybe it will work
