I dont know, Im also new to Ho hunting. Kidding, I would use the 300. Nice hog also.

if you use the 17 stick to head shots. right below the ear. I'd use the 300 tho.

17 is for gophers and chipmucks, use the .300 RUM. It's better to have meat than be meat.
