Default where to hunt hogs?

I was wondering which state would be best for a hog hunt. I would rather have it be no high fence. I have been reading on here that florida is overrun with them right now. Any info would be appreciated.

Too many states to name and it depends on if you want to pay or not. I would say Texas and East but California and other states have them as well. It is a matter of density. In Southern New Mexico we have some but they are not thick yet. Look intothe cost of a license, travel exspences etc then decide.

Good Luck

I forgot I had this link to a site that shows Hog poulations in 2004. It gives a rough idea. Just figure in 4 years it is much greater. A hog can have 12 pig in a litter a couple of times a year so the population increases drastictly.

Hope it helps

i've heard florida is a good place to go hunt them free-range. just watch out for the snakes and gators.

we dont have them up here in New York yet, but they say hogs are on the way up from pennsylvania in the near future.

A few years back I worked with a guy who used to run them down and catch them. Anyway, he showed up late one night at work with a big brute tied to the hood of his Suzuki Samuri! He always told me the place (central FL) was over-run with the things.
