I'm not sure if this is even the correct page to post this. However, I'm going on an African Safari in June 2008 for plains game. The outfitter in Aftrica demands a scoped .30 cal rifle. I plan to bring my .300 WSM and will be going after Gemsbok, Zebra, Impala, and Springbok. I'm not sure which bullet I should be using. I would like to hear from folks that have actually hunted these animals and what bullet you had success with. I'm not looking for opinions, just actual experience.
I've shot 3 whitetails and 1 mule deer with my .300 WSM using 180 gr Federal Accubonds. I'm thinking these will work in Africa as well knowing the largest game I'm hunting is Elk sized or should I move to a trohpy bonded bear or other round?

I'm also going back in June '08! But to answer your question, the accubonds will be fine. I have taken all the animals you mentioned plus warthog, kudu, blesbuk, and black wildebeest, all with 165 grain Sierra Gamekings in 30.06. I will use Barnes MRX's this time, but the accubonds should be no problem.
Where will you be hunting?
