Shoot what you are most comfortable with, but killing hogs doesn't require a magnum caliber.

Either should work fine, last spring I took four hogs 140# - 320# with my 22-250, shooting a 53gr Barnes bullet push along by 35gr of Hodgdons Varget.

I have a .22 Savage HP that will work wonders when whispering in a hog's ear. I also have a 270 that is dandy! The 700 and the .06 will do the job nicely, but as mentioned above, smaller cals. will work fine.

I take it you will be hunting from a stand over bait , if so any center fire with enough energy to kill deer and bullet selection to give good penetration should work. hogs sometimes come out late so be ready to shoot in low legal light

Any Turdy Turdy will take any size hog while hunting them! Now if you're looking to shoot them at 300 to 400 yards, well you're not hog hunting, you're hog shooting.

I've heard of people hunting hog with 44 mags too. Although, I don't believe you can go wrong with your /06 for hunting just about anything.

2315 with 100 grain muzzy does just fine so whatever you use if the shot is placed right will work just fine there just big babies especially in texas they cry and run when you don't even hit them

That sounds like a good excuse. Everyone needs a 45cal AR. I'm leaning more to the Armalite chambered in 338 Federal. I already have a bolt gun in same caliber and absolutely love it.
