congrats on joining the pork hunters. first off make sure you are using equipement that will put them down. talk to your outfitter as to the average size of hog you will see . a 300+ may not go right down with a 270 but will with a 30 cal. if you are looking for a wall hanger use either a low chest shot or high on the shoulder about 4-6 inches below the spine. this will drop him quick. if you want meat go for the head.
i have killed two with one shot of a 7 mag. expect to be close to them when you shoot and to see more than one at a time. the rush is the same as deer and it is very exciting to chase porky.
they dont see well but have a ability to smell better than deer , use the wind
and mostly have fun and pork fill the freezer
