.357 SIG vs. .40 S&W for hogs?
I am looking for a compact handgun tohunt pigs and coyote while mounted on a horse. I am hunting with hounds so my shots are close-up (30yds. or less)
I am considering.357 SIG ora high grain.40 S&W ammo for the job. What do you think?
The G33 looks pretty sweet for this.

i fyour useing it as your primary i would go with 357. I use a 40cal for back up but i wouldnt use it as my primary firearm. not sure about the energy/my aim out to 30yards with it.

you need to be careful if you are hunting hogs with a handgun. We've shot them with a .40 before finishing them off when wounded and we had trouble finishing them with it.

BB, first you have to train the horse for gun blast an second, the .357 works on close up headshots. If you want to hunt from a horse, use a .44 carbine or a .30-30 carbine.

So yeah, its the common dilema of firepower vs. carry-ablity. Sorry, can't do rifles.
