where to hog hunt public land in south cakalaky
Well deer season is winding down. Been thinking about putting together a hunt with some of my buds and head down and do some hog huntin this year for the first time. All my friends are cheap bastards so is there a public place that 5-10 people could go down and get some hogs relatively easy. None of us has any experience.

hey buddy, you can still hunt Manchester State forest for hogs during Jan. The place is about 20 some odd thousand acres but your best bet would be the 3-4 thousand acres alnog the Wateree River. Would it be easy to kill one? I dont know. If ya got any questions let me know

Hey DeerslayerSC
Thanks for the reply
It might be tough to get down in Jan. because I am on a very time intensive rotation that month. I was hoping for Feb. Oh well, do what you can right? Maybe I can slip down for a couple of days and bring home something for the smoker.
When you write still huntdoyou mean stand hunt or walking slowly through the bush? Also, is the best stategy to find a wallow and set up shop?
Thanks

Digi, either of the two will be legal during the Jan. time period at Manchester. Ive never hog hunted so to be honest Im not sure what your best approach would consist of. If I find some more public hog hunts Ill let ya know.
