I use a 45 cal230gr hp for deer at 2100 fps it open explosively and normally drops them on the spot,I am wondering if it has enough penatration for a big boar. I usually hunt boar with a bow my friend who is going this time wants to use muzzle loaders.

I don't know why that won't work, we had someone on the forum drop one with a 22 cal. rifle about a month ago... hit it right between the eyes... At least that is what he said...

Yeah that'll do it!! Hit'em in front of the shoulder with that and he'll drop too, just like the deer. Get close, it's more fun that way!! Here's a pic that will help.

It will do the job! When I use aML in Muzzle Loading Season, I also have a Rem. 1858 Army SS .44 Mag on my hip.

One more thing. Don't forget your waterproofing stuff for the Muzzleloader. When you only have one shot, you don't want to hear just the cap go off. I made that mistake this year on a big buck and I'll never let it happen again. Good luck out there!!
