You should get a tough thick piece of leather and make a helmet out of it, then you should attach the tusks to the front of the helmet and fight your next wild boar on his level...tusk to tusk LMAO.

I have let skulls dry and pulled the tusks. Any idea of how to prevent the extracted tusks from splitting and falling apart? I had a pretty nice pair that fell apart grrrr.

I use clear Shellac, especially in between the teeth.

If you're a patient guy, you may want to just bury the head after you skin it and wait about 6 monthes and dig it up. They'll come right out or you can then bleach and dry it.
That is actually what I did with a small spiker I shot several years back. It worked really well. I think having the entire skull would be great.

Clean them up, a coat of varnish and sit them on the mantle piece next to an Axis Deer cast antler.
