Hog Calls

Hunter, you have to learn thier vocalizations and what they mean first, before
anyone uses one. They have about 10 different communicating sounds that
means something to them. You might be blowing a Warning sound to them.
When you hunt with dogs, you don't have to worry about that, but if you don't
then it's a different story. Hunt safe good buddy and good luck.RH

Hunter, hand pick your hog hunting buddies real good. You have to have a plan
when hunting with dogs, on how you are going to handle the hunt.Over the years
I have seen hunters shoot hunters and kill priceless dogs. Hunting with dogs is very
fast and alot of running, if not the hog might kill a dog. Set hunting rules and follow
them religiously! Especially at night! I'd rather carry a holstered .45, than a loaded
shotgun or rifle and take the chance of tripping and shooting yourpartner or other
guys infront ofyou or they might do it to you.
Yes, you get a good adrenaline and satisfaction rush, especially if it's a big one!
Man, it sure brings back memories!!!

Rebel hog is right. You can spook 'em fast if you hit the wrong note. I found a low continuos grunt while walking to the stand is an excellent cover sound. I've actually walked right up on them like that, but they blow out as soon as they see you stand tall on 2 legs not 4. The other is the feeding sounds. They do like to come in when it sounds like other pigs are getting some food and they're missing out.!
