Do you think a 7 mm mag would do it?

Ive seen guys shoot them with ARs, of course dogs had the hog also. I think Hawaii is the only state Ive seen that will let you hunt with a .223, not counting varmints and coyotes. Biggest thing we have here is feral goats and pigs, not much chance of ruining natural wildlife by clipping a deer with a small caliber, cause there are no native deer.

I happen to be partial to pistols, My best hog YET, was a 315 lb boar taken with a 10mm wyoming, and I was actually just fishing the 10 was my ccw but that little Hydra-Shock dropped that lil ol piggy like a ton of bricks. When Im actually looking for hogs I like a 7mm-08 lone eagle although I have used a 375 H&H ruger #1once or twice just out of spite

You can hunt with .223 here in FL as long as you are using a magazine in the rifle that holds 5 or less rounds.

Only restrictions we have are for pistols, and it depends if you use dogs or not. Without dogs, the case has to be longer that 1.25", 10mm and .45 win mag are only exceptions. With dogs, a derringer .22 would be legal if you wanted to. That said, most people use dogs and knives here anyways, Im the oddball.

Hey Rusty, funny you mention the 7400. I've been a die hard bolt action man for years. Now I'm seriously considering the 7400. I didn't know anyone who had one. Are there any regrets or downsides to it that you see?

Ive had mine for around 3 years now, Ive taken 3 deer with it and fired a couple hundred rounds(30-06)through it and I dont have a single complaint! When I first got it I looked around on here and several other sites to see what people said about them and found lots of negative information, some said it jammed all the time, some said it was inaccurate, and a few other things but mine has yet to jam it shoots straighter then I ever could and im extremly happy with it so I highly reccomend it! I think most of the people who complained about it have probably never owned one and are just going on the what they herd from a friend of a friends cousins uncles brother type deal.
