well maybe a 22-250 might be a little small but also shooting 60 boat tails have never failed as long as you can hit the dang thing right you should be fine

The picture of that slug should be in the Barnes catalog! That peformance was awesome, and the only way it could've been any better is if the slug had 1 more fps in it to barely squeeze out of the off side of the pig to leave you a better blood trail! My guess is with a mushroom like that the blood trail probably wasn't too much of a factor.

The hog dropped right on the spot. I think it would have had complete penetration, but I hit the spine. It is 100% because of me. He came out on my left side and was looking at me. I didn't have a shot, and as I was trying to figure out what to do, he started to walk briskly right in front of me. I justshot a bit high, and clipped the spine.

We should all be so lucky with shots that go "a little high". I have never complained about accidentally hitting the spine. Even if they need a finisher you know that they aren't going anywhere!

I certainly am not complaining. It worked rather well. It just was not what Iintended to do. It didn't expire immediately, but it couldn't go anywhere either. But I am sure that is why I didn't get complete penetration. But, it didn't matter anyways.

We use everything from a 25/06, .308, .300 WM, to my .450 Marlin. I like the .450 though because when you hit one with it they don't go anywhere.
