Default Adjusting accutrigger on 220 Savage

I just got a Savage 220 and am trying to lighten up the trigger. It feels harder than my other rifles and they are about 4 lbs. Its good and crisp but just a little hard. But after reading the manual the screw is all out of adjustment. Has anyone else been able to lighten theirs. I thought I woud be able to lower the pull to under 3lbs.

Based on what you have stated in your post, I would strongly suggest you take it to a gunsmith that knows what he's doing because it sounds like an accident waiting to happen!

"............the screw is all out of adjustment"

Perhaps you are turning it in the wrong direction ?
