You are correct . It was a Blackhawk. They discontinued it because it was "eroding the backstrap". I'm no gunsmith, but I think that's the term they used. I sure wish I still had it. I wa s in the service back then and I sold it for next to nothing.[:'(]

This is right off of Ruger's site. Their MSRP is always much higher then you can find them for.Handloader even at 700.00 NIB is to high.

Swampman, you're making the right choice. I bought a new SRH in .480 the first week they were available and regretted it. Nothing wrong with the accuracy of it or anything, but back then, Hornady was the only factory ammo for it and it was quite expensive, close to a dollar a shot. Looking back, I'd have gone with the 454 because of the ability of shooting the LC's. Good luck.
