Default Ruger 345?

Anybody fired or held one of these yet?
They have gotten good reviews, with some seemingly desirable features.
Any forst hand info would be appreciated.

I have looked at them and I like them. The only thing I don't like is that you have to have the magazine in the gun to fire it. I had a .22 pistol like that and it was a bigger pain than you would think it would be. They also don't offer it in a Decock only version yet to my knowledge. The fit and feel were very good though. They are only around $450 to.

Not to discourage you guys.Go over to the Rugerforum. www.rugerforum.com Go to the semi auto pistols board. You might have to show posts from 60 days or so. There were a few topic with several posts about the 345's. There was allot of complaints with these.I was thinking of getting one myself. I've decided until Ruger gets the bugs worked out I'll pass.It might save you some headaches waiting for awhile.

I have not shot one yet. I bought a new 45 auto Ruger just before the 345 came out. Tests with the 345 at the Shot Show were very good and the write-ups have been good. The above report in this post is the first not so good report that I have heard. I have had all the Ruger Auto though and if it has bugs now, I am sure Ruger will work them out.

I looked at my first one the other day. I was impressed with it.The one I looked at was Blued. They had just sold the S/S model which is about 40.00 more then the blued. He was asking 439.00 for the blue.I've read some reports about these 345's.In the magazines reports were good.If I hadn't read differently over at the Rugerforum,I wouldn't have known about these problems. Some were happy with theirs ,when others were having FTF. It was brought up that the recoil spring is .030 smaller on one end.If installed backwards it could be part of the problem according to Ruger.I can't see why they had to reduce the spring by .030. My understanding the spring isn't marked so it could be quite easy mistakenly installing it assbackwards.I suggest reading about the 345 over at the RF.
