In a word the gun is junk. Cheaply made, stiff trigger, pressed in barrel, action feels like sandpaper, and made to be thrown away. If you want a good rifle in the same price range get a Savage but avoid the Remington 710 at all costs. I know of several gunshops that won't even take them in used, and refuse to sell them new.

If you do a search on this rifle on this site you'll see many posts on the issue of the Remington 710. 99.9% of the replies say the rifle is garbage. I AGREE. Don't waste your money!!

I'd rather borrow someones rifle than have to hunt with the 710, the scope that comes with it is worth more than the rifle by far.

Nothing really to add, The Remington 710 is junk from the word go.Check the Savage line out.For about the same money you'll get a much better rifle. Ruger Redhawk
