Took my wife to shoot some trap and she was having a great time. She shot my 12 gauge 870 with a SIMS recoil pad on it and was fine with the recoil but she said the gun was too heavy for her and she tired quickly of just holding it up.
Any suggestions for a gun for my wife??
She is small.......120lbs so low recoil and light weight are a bonus..........even though it's kind of an oxymoron.
She will be shooting trap probably exclusively.........and I don't know how much so a high priced trap gun would be silly at this point.
Thanks.

Get her a 870 wingsmaster with a light contour barrel. I got one in a 12 ga super magnum and it is considerably lighter than the express model and the barrel end is alot lighter with the light contour barrel so it isn't that hard to hold up and swings alot better.

I would agree with rockfish, a Rem 1100 in 20ga 2 3/4 to 3",or a 870 in the same gauge with the upland style stock. It quicker ,and its more right on when you throw up due to stock design. It has a straight grip. This is what i bought my wife. She never shot any gun in her whole llife, and went to the international trap and skeet range, and after some instruction from myself to her, right out of the gate she shot 17 out of 25. Its a good choice ,for trap and skeet,or in the field. vangunsmith

She shot a NEF 12 single and didn't like the recoil at all........she liked how light it was though.
I tried to tell her that she is gonna have to find a nice middle ground.
