on't know why I'd spend $500-$1000 on a new rifle - think I'd go to CMP and get a Garand and a 1903 Springfield first.
Ahh, you be speaking my language.

As a newbie, it sometimes appears that the more experienced crew seem to expect a $300 or $400 rifle to perform wondrous feats of marksmanship....
There's "always" been cheap rifles that shot with the best!!! Ever hear of a Remington 788????????????????????????

A cheaper rifle of old, was many times exactly what Rem. did to there 700 BDL. To make a cheaper rifle they built the 700 ADL, and that was a good idea!!!

"If" you have to turn the metal into "junk" to save money, your pissing in the wrong pot!!!!

I only have 5 1100's so I will never be out of luck on the lake!!
well DD if you didn't like the gun why where you dumb enough to get 4 more? i also don't care for the 1100's however i do like my 11-87 a lot.

the only "true" new gun in my safe if a ugly as# 270 savage 110. if shoots right with all my other better quialty guns however it dosen't come near to being built the same. just bought a 30-06 BDL 2 or 3 weeks ago and love it. however even though it is new and never shot it is an older model that when the safty is off the bolt can't be opened. and i have fallen in love with it.

Walmart will order X number of guns from remington and when the guns are made they may take the order or say we will accept it at a lower price than we agreed upon remington makes a cheep gun for them so they can sell at a lower price and keep the sale. Remington is not the only co. they do this to,.
