Default Which Rifle Rest?

I am looking into buying a Rifle Rest to aid me in sighting in my rifle and just for all purpose use. However, I'm not sure what kind or brand to buy. The main firearm I would be using in the rest is a Browning Medallion 30-06. The rest I am currently considering is the Outer's Varminter Rifle Rest (most likely buying used off e-bay). I'm open to suggestions and advice. Thanks!

i have had the outers rest for years. it really works good and it does not weight much. about the only thing that does not work is a gun with a clip of 20 or more.

Ha, I don't believe that will be an issue with my browning.

I always used a Hoppe's Expert Brench Rest. A couple years ago a friend was using a Uncle Bud's Bull Bag.They are nice. Right after using his I got one. The only draw back is they are heavy to tote around. They have different sizes for bench or field use.

My wife bought me a really nice rest for christmas, I used it for a while but found myself going back to sand bags, they just seem to be the most steady rest I have used. I still use the rest while cleaning my rifles and mounting scopes ect..so having one is still a benefit.
