I can only comment on the Sako 75, so I may not be of any help to you. I've got two and one of them happens to be a 7mm mag with walnut stock and blued metal. It's an outstanding rifle in my opinion. It's very accurate and it fits me really well due to the excellent stock design. Fit and finish is first rate.
BTW, if you decide on the Sako, you should give the Conetrol scope mounts a look. I've got a set on the 7mm mag and they compliment the rifle really nicely. They're rock solid too. I prefer them to the Sako Optilocks which I have on my other 75.

I have a Sauer 200, the predecessor to the 202, but in 30-06. I would highly recommend it over the Sako. While some seem to like them, I don't think the new rifles are of the same quality that the old ones were. I hunted grounhogs with a Vixen on .222 for almost 20 years, and think the new actions are a distant second.

Theres no doubt that the 202 is about THE smoothest bolt action on the market. It feels like glass and even makes the 75 feel like an 700ADL
.
As much as I am a Sako man, I must admit a fondness for the 202 likewise. Beretta raised the wholesale price on the 202s last spring 84% overnight!!! [:'(] The 202 Lightweight with the "shotgun trigger" will run around $2500 now when it was about $1400. Their justification? "Well it's not the cost of steel and the Euro vs the dollar that makes us have to raise the price. It's that we feel the 202 has been underpriced all along!"
Good luck as EITHER is a fine piece. HELL my vote is just get BOTH!!!

No doubt it is a smooth bolt but I cannot justify the price tag. I don't think it will outshoot a Sako or even come close because of the 2 piece stock design. It looks different though and that appeals to a lot of people. I liked them better when they were 700 ...2000 I think they need to bring the bar down a few notches.
