RE: 270wsm or 270win?
 

FYI, I have both a .270 Win in a Weatherby Ultra Lt. Wt. (Apx. 7 lbs. loaded/scoped/sling) and a Kimber 8400 in 270WSM (a light rifle also).

The recoil in either rifle feels about the same to me and both are a pleasure to carry all day. They are not unpleasant to shoot.

Good stuff, both of 'em. Wish they'd never invented wsm, then I wouldn't think I needed it. The advice I conclude from all these posts is to pick one and start shooting it. Then don't think about it again, just learn your rifle.

Easier said than done.
