RE: Date Rem. adopted the 7-08???
Every referance that I have says that Remington intoduced the 7mm-08 in 1980
I have no doubt that the seller beleives that is what he says it is. However, I beleive what we are looking at is a 99CD. According to Modern Gun Values this is the same specs as the 99C except 22-250, 243,284 Win, 7mm-08, 308; white line recoil pad, pistol grip cap, quick detachable swivels, sling. Introduced in 1976, Discontined 1980.
The only way only way that it could have been purchased in the mid 70s is if it was purchased in 284 Win and rebarreled to 7mm-08 . The actions are the same.
I beleive this particular gun to be rare as the seller states, since they probably couldn't have produced that many in just one year's time(1980).
