You are going to buy a rifle which will basically waste all its extra power and energy by blowing through a 100lb whitetail. Then it will destroy your hearing because its ported unless you hunt with headphones or some type of protection. Tell me again the upside to this purchase?

I think you would be disappointed if you didn't get this rifle. I've read someof the reply to this and I cant understand "TOO MUCH GUN". Dead is dead, if the deer is laying there where you shot him, thats not too much gun. Worried about tissue damage? Shoot them in the chest cavity where your suppose to and dont worry. The 300 Win Mag is an excellent round. My Dad has one in the Remington Sendero, he took a shot at a deer two seasons ago at 400 yards (in Texas) and dropped it in its tracks. All the meat was fine. It does sound like you made up your mind. Its the perfect all around rifle.

Is there such a thing as too much? Really no point in justifing the power, we all will take a V-8 over a straight six. Muzzle blast will be wicked, recoil will be about double what your .260 supplies. You ll be cutting more out blood shot meat then you ever have but......if you want it, get it.

Like I said, you can't have to much gun. Its also illegal to shoot grouse or any other game bird in our state with a rifle of any kind. I have shot a lot of deer wth a 300 Win Mag. It was far more gun than I needed.
