In the Adirondacks I will tote the tree stand with the 270, or the hip boots with the 336 in 35 rem. In the southern zone I will be using the CVA HunterBolt in the shotgun and ML areas and the 336 gets the call for any of the rifle areas. The 870 slugger has been retired and replaced by a scoped ML.

All depends on my mood . . . up in the NZ of NY, I may have three guns to choose from: My scoped (Leopold Vari-X II) 742 in .30-06, or the 1100 Magnum with a rifled choke in 12 gauge, or an old Winchester 94 in .30-30.

Having said all that, I may just have my 6&quot; Colt Python in .357 Magnum on my hip, too. Never know when that might be handy.

I've been away for the better part of a week, so I just read your post.

My reply mentioned my .358 and my .35 Remington that I consider to be deer rifles. However, my primary moose gun is a Remington 7600 in .35 Whelen. It originally came with a wood stock, but I've bought a cheap Ram Line replacement, and I plan to use the gun with the synthetic this season.

I'll be using my Browning A-bolt 300WSM topped w/ Nikon 2-7x32 for opening weekend and possibly my Winchester 1300 w/Busnell1.5-4.5 x 32 w/ rifled choke later in the week for drives.

I'll be using a &quot;new-to-me&quot; Remington 760 Gamemaster -- .35 Remington. Or, my dad's Ruger M77(old tang safety)-- .308 Winchester

My wife will be carrying my Browning Micro Midas -- .257 Roberts.

I hope to use my 35 Rem for the first time. I haven't sighted it in yet, but as long as the accuracy is fair I'll be taking it. The Ruger is a tack driver and my back-up.

I've read every message on this entire thread & not 1 of you have mentioned the rifle I use for deer season. Well enough suspense its a 30-40 Krag, & I'm sure most of you have never seen one & some of you have never heard of one. Well its an old army gun, mine is an 1892 model, & it's one of the slickest bolt actions ever made, & loads & unloads easier than any other rifle I've ever used, because of the side loading box compartment.

I'm starting out with the .300 Weatherby shooting 180 gr. Sciroccos over 84 grs. of IMR 7828.
