RE: :::Poll::Name your deer gun for the season??
Each day and terrain calls for a different firearm, but I'll be using a Ruger 1-B in .270 mostly, with either old ugly (a CZ 600 in 30.06) or a Marlin 336 for inclement weather.

RE: :::Poll::Name your deer gun for the season??
Well For me in NJ we have to use shotguns for deer hunting but will use a H&R 12 guage.
If I get to PA this year which I doubt very much do to possible buying a house down the shore and all the moving. But if by miracle I get there then of course the 445 supermag Dan Wesson. Brian |
RE: :::Poll::Name your deer gun for the season??
Rem 700 .270, probably will be the one. Although I have been looking at buying a new rifle lately, and you never know.

RE: :::Poll::Name your deer gun for the season??
Winchester Model 70 stainless synthetic with boss 30.06.
|
RE: :::Poll::Name your deer gun for the season??
Buck season I'll be using a Rem 760 pump in .270.
For doe season I'll use my NEF 223. I know, I know...it's too small. But, don't tell the other deer I've shot! The 223 does fine if you can shoot, and you pick your spot. I like it for the doe season. That way I know I won't be a lead slinger like so many others in the woods during that season. |
RE: :::Poll::Name your deer gun for the season??
.For some reason i just thought,PRO-LINE..that you was still a Remington Pump 270 man...good choice..:)..
..JESUS IS COMING BACK BE READY... |
RE: :::Poll::Name your deer gun for the season??
TOTOE...It's the only gun I've seen that will shoot ANY make of bullet accurately (at least 2" at 100). I wouldn't trade it for any other deer gun. It's a lefty and so am I.
I'm looking for a 25-06 though...You ready to sell yours yet??? LOL |

RE: :::Poll::Name your deer gun for the season??
After shooting my latest batch of hanloads last saturday, it looks like the TC Encore in 7mm-08 is the winner! I might have to carry a couple of others to the woods just to keep them happy though.

RE: :::Poll::Name your deer gun for the season??
I will be using my 50 cal CVA hunterbolt for both muzzle loader, and firearms season. If of course I don't shoot them all with the bow first.
I moved and can't use my new rifle I got last year, so I either had to buy a new shotgun, or a muzzle loader. Seemed like a good reason to start hunting the muzzle loader season. |
RE: :::Poll::Name your deer gun for the season??
In the open areas I'll be using a k98 in 30-06 also, in the brush, a 307 Winchester. But you never know, I may christen the customized Husqvarna in 6.5x55 I just just got done refinishing. Sadly enough if I do end up hunting NJ this year I'll be limited to my Rem 870 12 ga. probably use sabot slugs.
