I was thinking about gtting one for my father as he has had some experience with these in service and he always talks about it and seems to be in love with it.
Does anyone have any experience with the G3? I am looking at a few of them and they seem to range between $300-$600 new. They all come in .308.
Would appreciate any pointers!

I have worked on or shot many of these jems. A true G-3 is selective fire and if transferable will run around $6500 or more so I assume you are refering to the semi clone. All I have shot, of both types are accurate, reliably and destroy brass and throw it like a fast ball. If you do not want to reload for it this is not a problem. If you take the thing a part do not pop out the roller locks on the bolt or you will not get it back togther untill the locks are retracted. Hint, insert the bolt backwards into the reciever and give it a hard push and you are back in business.

My brother works at a gun store and the owner had a bunch of magazines his store that he got. One night my brother had brought home like 50 hunting magazines and different magazines for guns. There are AK's and SVD's too, but my dad is crazy about the G3.
Thanks for the tips!
