I am considering buying this rifle and caliber and was wondering if anyone had any experience with either. Is the wssm a good cartridge or should i stay with a .243 winchester?

I think the .243 WSSM would be a hot ticket for big varmits or 150 yd deer, without the recoil. I'm considering getting the same rifle in .25 WSSM for deer myself. Don't really need it...but can't think of a reason I don't either.

I recently bought this set up at wal-mart winchester super shadow in 243WSSM with rings mounts and a simmions 8 point 3X9X40 scope for 399.99 plus tax. For the money its good deal. Heres the rest of the story, I love the 243 win and have taken deer out to 275 yd so I have no doubt that the .243WSSM will work just as well. THe scope is OK but Ihave put a simmions ATEC on it just for a little better scope. The riflle itself shoots very well and shot 1 1/2 easy BUT the TRIGER is really BAD way to hevey for my taste I have the gun at the gun smith as we speak haveing 2lb trigger did. Overall I really like this rifle caliber combination Hope This Helps
