Default Winchester Model 70 Super Shadow

Anyone have one of these guns? Local gunshop has them in all the WSM and WSSM calibers for 400-450. Been tossing around the idea of picking up a 25WSSM or a 7mm WSM. Just was wondering what kind of accuracy everyone was getting out of them.

They also have a 100 dollar gift certificate for any new Tikka bought.....

get the 7mm wsm. 25wssm is no different balistically than a 25-06.

I've already got a 7mm Rem Mag, so the short mag ain't any different there. I was just thinking of getting one for a lighter/shorter gun for carrying on long extended hunts. Same theory for the 25WSSM, I miss having a 25-06 in my arsenal, and I thought I'd give one a try.

I pretty much just need a good excuse to buy a new toy, I already have a Leupold VXII 3-9x40 and a Nikon Buckmaster 6-18x40 sittin in boxes in my closet that need a new companion.

I just bought a model 70 ultimate shawdow in 300wsm and I like it alot. I think the only difference between mine and the super shawdow is the bolt. The ultimate shawdow has the pre-64 extractor claw on the bolt and the super shawdow doesn't. I have been shooting penny groupings at 100yds with mine. Kick is moderate but w/ a 25wssm that wouldn't be an issue. If I were you I would compare it to a rem sps in the same caliber. Same price range...maybe even a little less...but the bolt on the rem felt better when I was looking. I got my ultimate for $400. It was a display model and didn't have the box. Otherwise I would have probably gone with the remington.
