I have the safari in 300 win. With both 180g hornady heavy magnums and winchester ballistic silvertip factory ammo, the gun shoots 3 shot 1" groups. Given this level of accuracy, I've never bothered to handload for it. It has never jammed, and the trigger is great for an automatic. My only beef with the gun is it is a touch heavy, and the stock is far too pretty to hunt in the real rough stuff. It probably would see more use if it had an ugly synthetic stock. I bought this as my western "brush rifle" for deer. It has worked well for deer, elk and antelope, although it usually tags along as a back up to a bolt 300wby or 340wby. Its accuracy and reliability far exceeds a remington 742 I had years ago. As far as a true western brush gun, I've been dreaming of a remington pump in 35 whelen or if I can find one, a browning pump in 338. I'm hoping santa will make my dreams come true this Christmas!

I've got a BAR Safari in 30-06 with a 3-9 Burris ballisticplex. Averages 3/4" CTC groups at 100Yds with 165Grn Nosler Partitions, 180Grn Sierra Game Kings and 180Grn Nosler Ballistic Tips. These are the only bullets I've tried in her, all handloads on top of IMR 4831.

Dark squares on targets below are 1/2". Light squares are 1/4". All shot at 100Yds.

........180 Game Kings 4 Shot Groups

.....180 Game Kings 3 Shot Group

.....180 Ballistic Tip - 3 Shot Group

......165 Nosler Partition - 3 Shot Group

I'm thinking about selling the BAR and getting a Stainless Sako in 7mm-08 for a dual purpose deer hunting and High Power Silhouette gun. (Anyone interested in the BAR drop me a PM.)
