Default PMP (Not PMC) and Hot Shot ammo

Anybody use this stuff?
They had it on sale at Dunham's here in Michigan....6.99 for a box of 20
I bought 3 boxes each of the 180 gr 30/06, 139 gr 6.5 X 55, and 100gr .243
I figured it would be decent range fodder and if it shoots ok I'll try it out on my short range smallish does I often hunt in the late season
Don't know much about the projectiles used in this ammo but heard that the brass was decent for reloading.
Any info you guys and gals might have would be appreciated.
I know that the PMP is made in South Africa by a company that produces a lot of Military contract stuff....but don't know anything about the Hot Shot brand.

My son uses the 243-100grain,for Pa.deer. This ammo is very good. One shot,so far,out to 200 yards, the deer drop like a rock!!!!!!!! It also seems to be accurate.

Now that's the kind of answer that is best! Real field research!
Maybe I should buy some more. I know I can reload cheaper but but for factory loaded ammo this is pretty cheap.
I actually missed the real big sale. It is marked 8.99 but is on sale for 6.99

Three weeks ago it was $5.99 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW mounting man .... was it the PMP your son was using or the Hot Shot ammo?

PMP ammo isnt to bad, you won't win any matches with them but they are plenty fine for hunting applications. I use to use PMP occassionally before i started reloading, when i wanted to shoot but not spend a whole lot on ammo. The best groups pmp ammo ever produced for me when I was doing my part was inch and half groups at 100 yards. asfar as the bullets terminal performance you could easily compare PMP's soft point to a remington core lokt or winchester power point.

Hot shot ammo i know nothing about other than its made in bosnia, I would assume its quality is decent. I also hear of alot police departments using it in their AR's for practice ammo.

I also wanted to add you can find even better deals on pmp if you look around. The place i bought mine from sold cases of 200 rounds of .308 $42.99. individual boxes for $4.59. Cabelas carries it also but sells .308 for 5 or 6 dollars a box all the time.

Thanks HDW,
Those are good prices you mention.... but finding the Hot Shot ammo in 6.5 X 55 for 6.99 was a real deal..too bad I wasn't in a few weeks earlier for the 5.99 price.
