I am presently thinking of purchasing the Savage 110FP in .300 Win Mag. Anyone out there have any experiences with this rifle or thoughts you might want to share in order for me to make an educated decision.

I had the Savage Left hand Synthetic stocked 300 Win Mag. It recoiled pretty hard. I think the one you are talking about has a heavy barrel and is a heavier all around gun. I shot one of those on 30-06 and it wasn't bad at all. I don't think you can go wrong with a Savage rifle. I have had a lot of them and only one bad one. The scope base mounting holes were not drilled in a straight line. The sent me a new rifle within a week. You can't beat that. Most are very good shooters. Some don't like the looks of the Savage but I buy them to shoot, not to look at. And shoot they do!!!!!
