Just picked up a new 700 BDL SS in 7 Rem mag. Its no short mag but not bad either
. I have to say it was reasonably priced and quality was a couple notches higher then my previous 700 BDL SS in 06 that I bought 4 years ago. Stock is greatly improved since it is stiffer and not prone at all to flexing and the Simms recoil pad is very soft. Very nicely made gun. Trigger job and it is good to go.

BC haven't done anything with it yet. Just have not had time with family commitments. Finally getting around to sorting out what I am using this year and it will be both of these. 7 mag and 7STW..feel kind of guilty using the STW in North CArolina on 50 yard wood shots so I am going to use the 7 mag for the grunt work. The STW will be saved for the big greenfields in Bama come January

Just curious why you decided on another 7mm. The STW looks like a pretty good long range piece, but I have fired neither. I figger oldelkhunter must be the pipeline to the truth here.

The 700 in 7mmremmag is about as versative package as one can get for big game hunting. All of my hunting partners use the 700 stainless with detatchable mag and all have been very happy with their choice.
