RE: Which Scope?

I like my Leupold Var III much better than my Sightron scope. The Leupold is $400 and the Sightron $300. That extra $100 is well worth it. I love the Leupold. Great scope.

RE: Which Scope?

I like my B&L on my Remington. I just got a Nikon Omega for my Encore and the optics are bright and the eye piece was very easy to adjust.

RE: Which Scope?

I switched from Leupold to Nikon about 4 years ago. I love this scope! I think right now it's the best scope on the market.

Nikon Monarch 2.5-10X42 BDC or 3-12x42 BDC

RE: Which Scope?

Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14x50mm w/Mil-Dot reticle. It's one outstanding piece of glass. The German's definitely have the optics thing figured out.

Zeiss Conquest

thndrchiken 07-11-2009 07:18 PM

I have Bushnell Elites, Nikon Buckmasters, Leupolds and one Zeiss. If I had to replace one I'd be buying another Conquest.

Sheridan 07-12-2009 06:04 PM

This is what I put on all my rifles

bush_pig 07-17-2009 02:09 PM

I like Swaroski just because of how clear it is but I don't have the money to buy one but when I do I will buy one.

I agree!!! I personally think Nikon is where its at...for the money! I mean are Zeiss and Swarvoski better....probably....but when I can buy 2-3...maybe even 4 Nikons for the price of a Swavoski...I mean come on. I'm not rich and I don't have anything against those who can afford a Swarvoski....I'll definitely have one if I win the lottery LOL!! I have a Nikon Omega on my TC Triumph and plan on getting a Nikon Monarch 2.5-10X42 for my Browning in the very near future.----Dr ASUS

Fixed 4X leupold or weaver K4

BOWHUNTERCOP 09-14-2009 07:09 AM

dollar for dollar you can't beat the Leupolds, I have the VX-II 3-9x40 on all but one firearm I own

brasmunky 11-05-2009 03:27 AM

I disagree with the comment about leupold being best deal for the money. I did a little research on entry level scopes for a guy($200 range) and came up with these specs. these are all 3x9x40

Burris Fullfield II
eye relief-3.1"-3.8"
light transmission- 95%
MOA adjustments- 1/4" @100 yards max adjustment 50
actual maximum magnification- 9x
lifetime warranty
manufactured in both the USA and Philipines(depends on demand)

Nikon Buckmaster
eye relief- 3.6"
light transmission- 92%
MOA adjustments- 1/4" @100 yards max adjustment 80
actual maximum magnification- 9x
lifetime warranty
manufatured somewhere in asia

Leupold rifleman
eye relief- 3.7"
light transmission- 82%
MOA adjustments- 1/2"@100yards max adjustment 56 elevation 52 windage
lifetime warranty
manufactured in USA

The way I see it the Leupold doesnt even fit into the same class even though it costs the same amount. The only reason i can think of is the whole made in USA thing but IMO that is crap. I am pretty sure thats why GM and Chrysler just had to take a bail out from government and are still on a pretty slippery slope. It just doesnt make sense to me an inferior product for the same price its just stupid.:confused2:

I just replaced my original Nikon 3-9 X 40 with a Mueller 4-16 X 50 AO. It appears to be a nice scope. Time will tell.....

Sheridan 12-20-2009 03:56 PM

Notice the second hightest rated is "other" !?!?

Frank in the Laurel 01-19-2010 05:34 AM

I own about a dozen of them, the vast majority being 3X9, some 40 years old..never sent one back, never had one move, never had one misfunction or leak ever.. dollar for dollar.. they are hard to beat.. the lifetime warrenty is worthless..you never sent one back anyway, I just bought the new Ultimate Slam and out it on my Bone Collector..lovers of the Nikon BDC will be impressed with the new scope, the slightly smaller dots make it much easier aiming at long distance than that big same sized circle at all distance, take a look BEFORE you comment...that's all I ever buy and ever will.. Nuff said on that....

ajstrider 01-23-2010 05:10 AM

I picked other because I pretty much use all Nikon scopes now.

carlahunter 01-26-2010 08:49 AM

my B.A.R 06 has a baush-lomb 3x9x40.
my wifes savage.06 bushnell elite 3x9x40
my ruger 7mm.redfield 3x9
my ruger 10/22 bushnel 3x9x30

wilderness guy 02-01-2010 02:43 PM

Absolutely, positively, no doublt about it. Swarovski 3x9x44 of any type, plus orminus magnification or objective if you would like something different. Clear optics and great warranty

loverboy9_1_1 03-05-2010 04:19 PM

Burris

You forgot about Burris, so I went with the other category!

BigBuck95 04-02-2010 11:21 AM

Nikon Prostaff 3-9
Best and most clear scope you can buy....
BigBuck95

Risasi 04-02-2010 12:54 PM

Was there ever any doubt that Leupold wouldn't win?

Chuck7 04-15-2010 04:40 PM

Now..to be truthful.my best scope I have is a Bushnell..so I voted on that one..However;I'm also a bird watcher and have a nice pair of Leupold optics..They are the best IMHO..I plan to get a nice Leupold scope for my new 270..I love Leupold

LifexIsxHunting 05-06-2010 09:53 AM

my favorite scope is a nikon monarch 3-12x42. probably because its the most expensive scope i own. lol

steelhead777 06-17-2010 07:11 PM

RedField American made in Duck land Oregon!!! I remember when my Dad used a Redfield scope on his 7mm Weatherby 40 years ago hunting out west and now the are back!!!

BowyerNADE 06-19-2010 10:01 AM

I use the Bushnell elite series because of the "rainguard" feature and the ruggedness has never let me down yet. I mainly hunt in cold weather Saskatchewan where the chance of breathing and fogging your ocular lens or getting snow on either lenses is highly likely and even Leupold or other high-end scopes do not compare with the "rainguard" feature in my honest opinion. i simply wipe the lens with my gloves or blow on it and i can immediately bring my gun up for a shot and know i will be able to see through it.

needs_recoil 07-20-2010 01:32 PM

Leupold 4.5x14 vxIII with a 30 mm tube

Which one

Guess it depends on what you can afored. I bevieve in quality, but sometimes the dollar has its say in this.
Getting into small bore shoots at a local gun club. There are a lot of different scopes on the line, you can tell by what you see who has the time an money to play an how serious they are about it. So i'm one of the little guys who likes to shoot but has to watch the dollar. Think i have a fairly nice set up to compete with them.

Swift 4/12x40 on 46b mossey
ossprey 6/24x50 on rem 510 targetmaster
both are good clear scopes an didn't break my wallet, plus i think i get savings by shopping a natchez shooting supply.
But everyone has there picks

zlr101 08-17-2010 09:23 AM

i got a nikon prostaff 3x9x50 on my remington 700bdl .308 it works great for small amount cash.

Legionnaire 09-13-2010 03:14 PM

More Leupolds than anything else. Plan to keep it that way.

demoIL 09-13-2010 05:53 PM

I shoot Zeiss Conquest now.. Love the scope, love the fixed eye relief and the crystal clear optics..
I have sold most of my Leupold's and bought Zeiss to replace them. I have a couple Leupolds left but most are gone now.

Each to their own, but I have had good results.. And for the money, can't beat em...

Hard at Werk 11-11-2010 12:49 PM

Leupold 3-9x50 on a Tikka T3 Lite in .270 WSM. This Is the first gun with a Leupold on it. I really wanted a Zeiss but if my wife payed any attention to credit card statements I wouldn't be typing right now.

Hard at Werk 11-11-2010 12:49 PM

Thats a VXII Leupold

Flatire 01-30-2011 06:28 AM

I really like the Zeis and other hight end scopes but i just can't get myself to spend the money on them. I have Nikon Monarchs on most of my guns and have never had an issue.
