Default re-chambering not good?

i heard that rechambering a rifle in a cartridge of .308 dia or over can harm the guns accuracy im not sure about this cause people do it all the time but what do you guys think

if it's done by a good gunsmith who knows what he's doing you shouldn't have to worry, they can tell you if rechambering or rebarrelling the rifle for the cartridge you want would be best. what cartridge changes are you planning on makeing denclark

I had a T/C Contender (14" pistol) in .35 Remington. I had SSK rechamber it to .358 JDJ. The gun shoots just fine. Being a pistol and with my shooting abilities, I'm not expecting a 300 yard gun, so I'm not too concerned about accuracy.

Hunting is a right, treat it like a priviledge - respect nature

If a good gunsmith does it, a rechambered barrel is as good as, or possibly better than, a factory-original. Bore diameter has nothing to do with this!! Likewise, I have seen brifles with barrels rebored to a larger caliber that shot better than they did when original.
