i was thinking my next barrel would be in .45/70 gov't , or a .375 JDJ from fox ridge outfitters. any ideas or thoughts as to any othe calibers ?? custom barrels are mainly in my future for this encore rifle

I feel that Bullberry Barrel Works makes a better barrel. Both cal. are great . I am not shure if JDJ chambers the 500 Peace keeper in the encore but it a lot of fun 50cal/460 case.

Welcome to the addiction.
I made a list of the bbls I want to get for my contenders and slowly but surely I'm getting them scratched off. If bolt guns didn't get in my way I would have alot more.
Have fun.

I’m still waiting for my custom barrel. Should be in soon. It’ll be nice to have and see on the quality of the workmanship but I’m not sure I’ll be ordering another barrel with what it cost for the first one.[:@]

from what i saw on the foxridge outfitters site , they cost anywhere from $240.00 to $300.00 , that's pretty good for a custom barrel and the upper price is for a brushed stainless steel straight bull barrel up to 26" long

From what I've seen, Foxridge is the cheapest. Stainless barrels from Bullberry or Virgin Valley will run you around $400.

T/C's custom shop used to be called Virgin Valley Guns and now when you click on their "custom shop", it takes you to Fox Ridge. Does anyone know if they just changed the name or did Fox Ridge take over the duties from Virgin Valley? I just tried to get onto Virgin Valley's site and couldn't get anything to come up. Just curious.
Whelen, here's another site you may want to check out. www.sskindustries.com Click on "Encore" and it gives a lot of info on the development of the Encore frame. This company is also the developer of the JDJ cartridges and gives balistics for them, including the 50 Alaskan 750. This rounds shoots a 600gr bullet at 1600fpfs out of a pistol barrel!! Now thats a handcannon!![8D]
