i don't have that model, but i have the savage 11FL (lefthanded) in the 300 wsm. it is a great shooting gun. the recoil is not all that bad. and you'll love the accu-trigger. it's pretty simple to adjust.

My friend's 15 year old son bought a package rifle from Wal-Mart. It is blued/synthetic with a Simmons 3-9X40 scope. It is like the Weather Warrior except it's not stainless. Out of the box the rifle was an honest 1 MOA gun with factory Winchester 180 gr. PP. His is a 2003 model w/o the accu-trigger. That is the only complaint I would have with his rifle. If you buy a new rifle make sure it has the accu-trigger and you should love the rifle. Beware some Savages are a bit rough (meaning the action) once you put a few rounds through it and work the bolt most things seem to smooth out. The Savage will function properly and should be an accurate rifle. With the money you save buying a Savage invest it in a quality scope and mounting hardware.
