I phoned Nosler about a week ago. I asked why they did not make, or if they would consider building a 180 grain bullet in .311 dia. I explained there are literaly millions of old .303 enfields out there, and if they would build it, they will come. But they pretty much dismissed me as a lunitic. I think a good, big name premium bullet might breathe new life into this old round. Any thoughts?

I don't thnk that'll ever happen
They are not hurting financially in any way that would press them into tooling up for a caliber and cartridge that, while effective and currently in use, is kinda relegated to less than enormous use.
There are some decent .311 bullets out there by some of the other makers and while they are not top-drawer premium bullets there are some a little above the median line of quality.

I know Sierra, Speer and Hornady make bullets. But I just thought that if a premium bullet were produced, they would sell. Some people cant buy another gun, and all they have is a .303. They still load for them, so why not? My comment to Nosler was "why build a ballistic tip for the .375, or a partition for a .22 cal? Yes they work, but would those sell better than a .311? I know the 22-250 with the right bullet will kill deer dead like they've been electrocuted, and people use a .375 H&H for pronghorn, but alot of people shoot .303's. Anyone out there shoot one, and what are you're feelings on this?

The page below is the 303 search response to "Rifle bullets 311" and lists a few bullets that would be a good fit in any 303 Enfield for tackling some bigger tougher game...granted they are not Noslers....but there are a fuew that look quite promising for elk, moose and fairly large bear.....even African game..to a limit. Check'em out! there's a 2nd page to it...The Sierra and Speer 150's and 180's should be good for a bunch of hunting (Pro-Hunters and Hot-Cor's) There's also some Hornady' 150's and 174's Interlock's....but the interesting (and expensive) ones are the Woodleighs which are Australian made... 174 PROTECTED round nose and a 215 Grain soft point round nose....
