RE: winchester 3030
The furthest distance I ever shot a deer was 225 yards with a model 94 30-30--factory iron sights. The hole in that deer's chest was big enough to stick your fist into. This was in the mid-seventies. I was sixteen years old and had used the rifle all Summer shooting groundhogs at our farm. The 30-30 is a round you have to work at getting to know. The same can be said of the model 94 rifle itself. If you do it, it will reward you quite well. Back then, nobody ever told me you couldn't kill deer or groundhogs at 200+ yards with a 30-30. In that sense, I suppose ignorance truly was bliss. I've never enjoyed hunting more in later years than I did in those days with that rifle.

Glock29rd, congradulate your mom, she's a better man than I! Just kidding. That would've been quite the shot to see. And congradulations on your choice of rifles. That little popper will give you a lifetime of use. And you'll actually enjoy carrying it up and down a mountain. Sweet little caliber too! And your right about the .30 wcf taking every critter. And it will continue to do so well into this next century!
