marlin 989 M2-CAL problems
This little gun my father has had for a long time. it does not eject empties reliably. i havent tried many differnt ammos but i will see if that helps.
any other suggestions? maximum number of shots i can get of without its half ejecting the case and then smashing between the bolt and the receiver (place where the bolt would land naturally) is 3 shots. its a pain in the butt. can anybody help?
i think my dad took it to a gunsmith about 10 years ago but with no help. the gun is clean so its not sticking.

i have the same rifle, and it does the same thing. if you find anything out let me know, it;s a sweet little gun and a pretty damm accurate (best shot i ever made was with that gun. headshot, red squirrel, top of a white pine approx 50yards, and it was swaying). but i only paid a crispy fin for the rifle so i can seddle for a single shot

Possibly sounds like a weak extractor spring or the extractor cannot grasp the rim due to poor fitting problems. Either way it is losing its grip before the ejector can toss it out.
