35 Remington and elk?

Is a 35 Remington a good choice for elk hunting? Has anyone ever shot an elk with a 35 Rem? How well did it work?

It wouldn't be one of my choices for a elk gun ,Fine for a deer gun with the 200Gr bullet but a bit slow for elk .
