Default S&W1911 recall notice.

There's a issue with the SW1911 pistol you should know about.

in an extremely small number of cases, that the firing pin safety plunger of the SW1911 pistol can become disabled, creating a situation where the slide may jam and render the firearm inoperable. This only pertains to certain Smith & Wesson Model SW1911 pistols bearing serial numbers JRD0000 to JRD4750.

You would think with all the time they had to "get it right"...they would have gotten it right.
This is a little disapointing from such a gunmaker[&o]

John Moses Browning had gotten it right 100 years ago. Its taken gun manufacturers pushed by politics this long to screw up the design by putting parts in the gun that don't belong there.[:@]

I couldn't agree more, that's why
"get it right"...
is in quotation marks.
There was nothing to do but imitate the original to "get it right"
S&W is a great company but if it isn't broken don't... "fix it"[&o]
