RE: How does Springfield get away with it
Oh sure, absolutely. Its just the XD didn't appear as just a "polymer gun" but the slide, trigger, even style and shape, slide guide rod and barrel looks like twins to my glocks. Except for the handle safety and trigger guard safety they look very fimiluar.

RE: How does Springfield get away with it
Hi bigcountry,
But it doesn't make your Glock's......any less Glock's!;) And at least as of yet it hasn't hurt the prices of the Glocks?!? (Though that is always a possibility.) Glock has proven itself not only an innovator.....but an extremely high quality firearm. Other than the XD's offer another choice...I don't think they'll have any adverse effect on Glocks. Dave P.S. When I compared the sub-compact Glocks with the little XD's. The Glocks are still head and shoulders ahead! (At least for concealability.) |

RE: How does Springfield get away with it
many gun manufacturers copy designs and actions of others......its always been done.....one person thinks of something to make something better and BAM.......everybody has the same thing on theirs.....i wonder how they do get away with it.....theyd have to change it somehow or buy the design from the other company and be allowed to copy it......thats an intersting point.....i wonder what they do..........

RE: How does Springfield get away with it
I know from my company, we usually sic the legal team on a another company first when we get a hint of patent infringment, then ask questions later. Later, we get to find out what they are really doing. So it works both ways. We find out info, and sometimes we get lucky. Usually, I mean usually come to a nice comprimise. Sometimes its gets expensive. Hey thats what we pay all those millions in retainers for.

Right on Bigcountry!
Hey Peyman................. Welcome to the board. I'm Uncle Matt and I'm just an "average Joe" who enjoys this board, the info I learn here, the stories and "campfire" spirit of the chatroom, etc.. There is an old saying that children in glass houses should not throw stones - ever hear it? Now you have. I can't believe that you (of all people) would be critical of other folk's spelling. Let's review some of your finer work I have reviewed in your past posts (and I only reviewed a very small percentage of your total posts). hmmm - you spelled as humn. new - you spelled as now. forum - you spelled as formun. haven't - you spelled as havn't. experiment - you spelled as wxperiment. wouldn't - you spelled as wouln't. excitement - you spelled as exitement. awesome - you spelled as awsome. So as to "The real question - How do you get away with your horrible spelling?" It seems you are quite the authority so you are probobly asking a question that you already know the answer to. Fact of the matter is that if you review "misspellings" as they occur (by all) 99% of the time these are not misspellings at all. They are simply typographical errors. A slight slip of the finger on the keypad. People will make mistakes, we all do. Learning from our mistakes is a wonderful way we, as God's creatures, learn to better ourselves, our lives and our world. I think that you will find that if you are nice, polite and friendly to folks in these forums (and the world), that they will behave the same way to you. I have found them to be a great bunch of folks. Of course if you have your mind set on throwing stones - the glass will surely be broken. I would not think that that picking at established members is a good way to introduce yourself on this board. Of course this is just my opinion. I am entitled to my opinion, you are entitled to your opinion and everyone else is entitled to their opinion. (Of course opinions expressed here are ALWAYS subject to moderator's censorship and/or deletion.) If you want to reply and tell me to go jump off a cliff - fine. (Of course I'm not totally stupid so I would wear a parachute and pick a cliff high enough to allow it to hopefully fully open). Enjoy this place and these good folks, they're really great. Uncle Matt (in IL - "looking for a high enough cliff in IL" ideas anyone?) |
