oldelkhunter-I merely posted a link for everyone to read and make up their own mind.I did no bashing of leupold products. If everyone here would rather that I not post links like the one I posted to share information with them let them speak up now.

I just noticed that there is a new warranty policy on the leupold website. The offending statement about voiding warranty is gone. The complaints seem to have made a difference.

SJ their warranty with our without this policy is one of the best if no the best . I have used their scopes for years and the few times one was returned it was handled like they cared about my business. If they were to follow through on this policy they would only be mimmicking European manufacturers who have similiar quirks in their warranties.

how would they know if what scope was bought at one of there golden ring dealers. unless they take down the #'s they send to them. i think/know KTP is a dealer since 8-% of their scopes are leupolds.

Ok, think about this. I think it was a stupid issue they are having. Think about this. I asked the customer service lady, on how would you know if I bought my scope from an authorized dealer, or a private saler. She said they account for the serial numbers.
Ok, they account for the serial numbers. Ok, they would only sell thier products in bulk to a Leupold Dealer. Right? So unless that dealer dumped his merchandise to an unauthorized dealer, you would be covered. I am just trying to understand what they are doing with thier announcement. Doesn't make sense to me.
