I have an 835 and for some odd reason it likes to dump out live shells when pumping the action instead of into the chamber. Is this common? Also have a 500 and it works perfectly. Doesnt matter what size shell either. 2 3/4, 3 or 3 1/2. Factory and reload do the same thing. Anyone else seen or heard of this? Thanks.

i don't have that problem with my 835 , in mine , the spent shell is ejected before the loading arm ( don't know the proper name ) drops to let a new shell enter the loading port of the receiver , then once the loading arm has the shell into the receiver it rises back up and acts kind of like a guide so the loaded shell can't fall out of the receiver ,
the only thing that i could even remotely think of that could cause that would be your magazine spring haveing too much stress on it , like too many shells in the magazine , or just simply the magazine spring being to strong that it pushes the shells back with enough force that they go into the receiver to speedily and spill out. or some kind of loading bar defect
best to take it to a gun smith as i can only guess

Ok I seem to have forgotten exactly where the shell is going. It doesnt even make it to the loading arm to be lifted into the chamber. Where the magazine is, it pushes them out there. But only when the magazine release is engaged. And not all the time either. And it can be with a full magazine or one. So I guess I will be taking it to a gunsmith before Turkey starts. And just pray its done by April.

I had a brand new one that did the same thing.it cost me two deer and one turkey.had an empty chamber when I pulled the trigger.
I sent it back and they said they fixed it."NOT". it did the same thing again.I called them and they said send it back. I sent it back, they said if it did it again they would replace it.
Well it did it again and again.they would not fix it again, they just blew me off.so I got rid of it.
I have talked to a lot of people that have them and had no problem at all.I have also talked to several with the same problem and can't get it to stop.
I don't know how to help you ,the factory couldn't even help me.[:@]
