remington is now going to bring back the 6.5 rem. mag in 2004 in the model 673 , they're also chambering the .308 in the rifle as well this year
this may have been brought up here before but , this is news to me that i didn't know

Yeah, it's been done before. I really want a 6.5mm magnum, but don't want it in a 673, I'd really rather have it in a Model 700 mountain rifle. Oh, well maybe I'll get my with next year.

Hi camp_13,
The 6.5 Remington Magnum has the same case dimensions as the .350 Remington Magnum......except necked down. As far as compared too......think 7mm Remington Magnum.....with the case shortened to allow it to work through a short action. For a little more general info......go to:
http://www.chuckhawks.com/6-5mm_rifle_cartridges.htm
http://www.reloadersnest.com/frontpa...?CaliberID=207
Hope this helps!

The 673 comes in 5 calibers
.350 Rem Mag
6.5 Rem Mag
.300 SAUM
.308
.243
Have seen them all. They don't list the .243 on Remington's website, but they are available[8D]

I own a 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser with a 3x9x40-red dot scope on it.Ican hit dimes consistant at 100 yards. This gun is absolutely beautiful.Very fun to shoot. But the ammo is pretty expensive $23 a box around here.

In this the day of the short Mags, it makes sense for Remington to bring back the 6.5 and 350 mags. Both are fine calibers. The 6.5 Rem mag was intended to compete with the 264 Win Mag. Niether caliber really made a big splash even though they were about as good as it gets for long range hunting of deer and elk size game. I had a 6.5 in the old 600 series of Remington rifles the 660 I believe. Talk about muzzle blast!!.

I have the 350 rem mag and the 6.5 rem mag in the model673, I expect to pick up the 243 tomorrow. The 243 is a limited run. So far I only scoped and shot the 350 mag and if the other guns shoot as well as this one I will be extremely happy. The 350 shot hole on hole and the third shot was 3/8 inch off the other two.
